Seattle Seahawks have made moves to strengthen their roster with the recent signings of linebacker Devin Richardson and defensive end Nathan Pickering. Both players showcased their skills during the team’s rookie minicamp earlier this month as tryout participants.
Richardson, a standout from Washington State University, brings a dynamic presence to the linebacker position. In his sole season with the Cougars, he demonstrated his versatility by tallying impressive statistics, including 62 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, one sack, and a forced fumble across 12 games. Hailing from Klein, Texas, Richardson began his collegiate journey at New Mexico State before transferring to Texas, where he showcased his talent for two seasons.
On the defensive front, the Seahawks bolstered their lineup with the addition of Nathan Pickering, who boasts an impressive track record from his time at Mississippi State. Throughout his college career, Pickering showcased his prowess in the trenches, amassing 124 tackles, 30.0 tackles for loss, and 13.0 sacks in 51 games, with 30 starts. His dedication to both academics and athletics was recognized with his inclusion in the 2023 SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll.
The signings of Pickering and Richardson reflect the Seahawks’ commitment to identifying and nurturing talent. These additions bring the total number of undrafted rookies on the roster to 19, further enhancing the team’s depth and competitiveness as they prepare for the upcoming season.
