Golden Knights General Manager Kelly McCrimmon has finally addressed the recent speculations surrounding Jonathan Marchessault’s future in Vegas and outlined the team’s offseason priorities following their playoff elimination.
In the aftermath of the Knights’ disappointing first-round exit at the hands of the Dallas Stars, defenseman Brayden McNabb shared his sentiments about Marchessault’s potential departure. McNabb’s succinct response of “No,” echoed the sentiments of many teammates, emphasizing Marchessault’s integral role in the team’s dynamics as a “Golden Misfit.”
Marchessault, who transformed from an undrafted player to the Conn Smythe Trophy winner in 2018, stands as one of the few remaining players from the inaugural 2017-18 squad. Despite his stellar performance, scoring 42 goals in the recent season, Marchessault’s future with the Knights remains uncertain as he enters unrestricted free agency.
