Surrendering himself to authorities, Boutte posted a $6,000 bond and was subsequently released, although the investigation into the matter remains ongoing.

Authorities allege that Boutte utilized a false identity to circumvent the legal age requirement for placing bets in Louisiana, falsely claiming to be 21 years old when he was, in fact, only 20. It’s asserted that during this time, Boutte engaged in approximately 8,900 illegal wagers, including wagers on 17 college football games and at least six bets on LSU football games, even during his tenure as a member of the football team in 2022.
