Throughout this postseason, Jackson, a seasoned player with 13 years in the league, has seen limited action, averaging just 10.4 minutes per game. Unfortunately, his performance on the court hasn’t matched his experience, with underwhelming stats, including 3.2 points and 1.4 assists per game, coupled with a .381 true shooting percentage. Despite an ankle sprain during Game 3 against the Los Angeles Lakers, Jackson’s contribution in the earlier stages of the playoffs remained below expectations.
Reflecting on his role during the regular season, Jackson’s importance to the Nuggets was evident, particularly in the absence of star guard Jamal Murray due to injuries. With Murray sidelined for 23 games, Jackson stepped up, starting in 23 of the 82 games played. His stats reflected his significance to the team, averaging 10.2 points and 3.8 assists per game, with notable shooting percentages, especially as a starter.

Despite not anticipating such heavy involvement with Denver due to Murray’s presence, Jackson acknowledges the need to contribute whenever required, emphasizing his willingness to step up when his team needed him most.
Looking ahead, the Nuggets may rely more on Jackson’s performance against the Timberwolves, especially given Minnesota’s formidable defense, which poses challenges for Murray and other key players. While Jackson’s regular-season encounters with the Timberwolves didn’t showcase his scoring prowess, his ability to facilitate plays and create opportunities for his teammates remains a valuable asset for the Nuggets, particularly against tough defensive matchups.
