Georgia’s Kirby Smart Becomes Top-Earning College Football Coach with $13 Million Per Year Contract Extension!
Georgia’s Kirby Smart has solidified his position as the highest-paid football coach in the nation.
In an announcement made by the team on Thursday, Smart and the Bulldogs revealed a contract extension set to commence from the 2024 season onwards. Under this new agreement, Smart is set to earn a reported $13 million in 2024 alone, with the contract extending through the 2033 season.
This significant increase in salary places Smart ahead of Clemson’s Dabo Swinney, who is set to earn $11 million in 2024.
The extension, spanning two years, elevates Smart’s average annual earnings by $1.75 million compared to his previous contract. Moreover, his maximum bonus has been upped from $1.3 million to $1.5 million. This new deal supersedes the 10-year, $110 million extension he inked in 2022 after securing his inaugural national title.
Smart boasts an impressive career record of 94-16 at Georgia, including a formidable 56-9 mark in the SEC. Under his leadership, Georgia has made appearances in the national championship game thrice, clinching victory twice.
