The landscape of the 2024 NBA playoffs continues to be shaped by injuries, and here’s the latest on some significant ones.
First, the silver lining: Kristaps Porzingis’ injury isn’t as severe as initially feared.

However, the setback remains significant as Porzingis has been diagnosed with a calf strain, ruling him out for Game 5 and potentially beyond. The injury, described as a “soleus strain,” mirrors the ailment that has sidelined Giannis Antetokounmpo for the entire Bucks vs. Pacers series. Typically requiring a recovery window of 2-3 weeks, the absence of Porzingis could extend into the next round of the playoffs for Boston, who await the winner of the Orlando or Cleveland series (currently tied 2-2).

With Porzingis sidelined, the Celtics will lean heavily on Al Horford and may see increased contributions from Luke Kornet.
Bojan Bogdanovic will undergo surgery on his left foot and will be re-evaluated in three months.

In a separate unfortunate development, the Knicks’ Bojan Bogdanovic is set to undergo foot and wrist surgeries, effectively ending his playoff run. Bogdanovic, known for his scoring prowess off the bench against the 76ers, will be sorely missed by New York as they navigate the postseason without him.
