Coach Hubert Davis Drops Big News: UNC Basketball Lands Top Sharpshooter!
UNC basketball has secured the commitment of one of the nation’s premier shooters, adding firepower to their roster.
Throughout the offseason, head coach Hubert Davis and his team have been actively recruiting transfers to bolster their lineup. While they faced setbacks in pursuing big men, they recently celebrated the return of Seth Trimble after he entered the transfer portal.
Now, after much anticipation, UNC has secured its first significant transfer commitment: Belmont’s sharpshooter Cade Tyson.
Tyson, a 6-foot-7, 205-pound wing, officially announced his decision to join the Tar Heels via social media on Sunday. Speculation had been rife for weeks, with Tyson receiving predictions to UNC and generating excitement among fans.
As one of the top transfers available, Tyson brings impressive stats from his time at Belmont, averaging 16.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game while boasting a remarkable 46.5 percent accuracy from beyond the arc. His talent and accolades, including being named the Missouri Valley Conference Rookie of the Year, position him as a valuable asset for UNC.
With his arrival, Tyson is expected to make an immediate impact, potentially even earning a starting role.
