Unfortunate Update: Texas Longhorns Confirm Experienced LB’s Departure to UDFA Deal…
Texas Longhorns linebacker Jett Bush has officially joined the New England Patriots.
AUSTIN — Despite not being among the 11 ‘Horns selected in the 2024 NFL Draft, linebacker Jett Bush has swiftly secured an undrafted free agent deal.
Announced by the official Texas football account on X (Twitter), Bush has inked an UDFA contract with the New England Patriots. His opportunity lies in proving himself to the coaching staff during training camp, aiming to earn a spot on the 53-man roster.
Throughout his collegiate career, Bush remained loyal to Texas, dedicating all five seasons to the program. His standout performance in the past season showcased his potential, tallying 17 total tackles, two sacks, and an impressive 43-yard interception return for a touchdown.
Should Bush successfully secure a spot on New England’s roster, he will have the opportunity to learn under the guidance of first-year head coach Jerod Mayo, succeeding the legendary Bill Belichick.
It’s worth noting that Bush and Patriots safety Brenden Schooler shared the field during their time at Texas in 2020 and 2021. Now, they reunite as they embark on New England’s offseason program together.
