Breaking News: Hailey Van Lith Transfers to TCU Following Disappointing Season at LSU!
After a challenging season with LSU, star guard Hailey Van Lith has made the decision to continue her collegiate career at TCU, according to reports from Talia Goodman of Next Hoops.
Van Lith, who initially began her college journey at Louisville before transferring to LSU for the past season, will now join the Horned Frogs for the upcoming games. During her time with LSU, Van Lith showcased her skills, averaging 11.6 points and 3.6 assists per game.
The move to TCU comes amidst changes within the team, as Haley Cavinder, previously committed to TCU for the 2024-25 season, decided to join her sister Hanna at Miami. Hanna had initially stepped away from basketball but later announced her return to the court, prompting Haley’s change of plans.
Van Lith’s decision to leave LSU follows a notable performance in the Elite Eight, where LSU faced off against Iowa. Despite Van Lith’s efforts, the team fell short against Caitlin Clark, who scored 41 points, including nine three-pointers, in a decisive victory for Iowa.
LSU head coach Kim Mulkey addressed Van Lith’s departure, expressing support for her decision and acknowledging her dedication to improvement. Mulkey emphasized Van Lith’s hard work and determination, highlighting her desire to enhance her skills and position herself for success at the next level.
While there were speculations of Van Lith potentially joining Mississippi State, her choice to reunite with former coach Sam Purcell at TCU solidifies her commitment to continue her basketball journey with the Horned Frogs.
