Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb faced a setback last season after sustaining a knee injury in Week 2, which required two surgeries to repair both his MCL and ACL in his left knee. This injury marked the second time Chubb faced a significant knee injury, with his previous ACL tear occurring in 2015 during his time at Georgia.
With Chubb sidelined, the question arises: when will he make his return to the field for the Browns?
Head coach Kevin Stefanski addressed this query, refraining from providing a concrete timeline while acknowledging Chubb’s dedicated efforts in rehabilitating his injury throughout the offseason. Despite Chubb’s diligent approach, Stefanski emphasized the importance of prioritizing his long-term health and avoiding any rush to return to action.
Throughout the offseason, Chubb has been actively engaged in individual workouts at the Browns’ facilities, demonstrating his commitment to regaining full fitness for the upcoming 2024 regular season.
Stefanski underscored the team’s cautious approach, opting to monitor Chubb’s progress closely rather than imposing strict deadlines for his return. This approach aligns with the Browns’ commitment to ensuring Chubb’s well-being and minimizing the risk of further injury to his left knee.

Chubb’s absence isn’t the only focus of the Browns’ rehabilitation efforts, as quarterback Deshaun Watson is also undergoing his own recovery process.
Despite his injury setbacks, Chubb has proven himself as one of the league’s premier running backs, accumulating impressive statistics over his six seasons with the Browns. His exceptional performance on the field, marked by 6,511 rushing yards and 48 touchdowns, highlights his significance to the team’s success.
Additionally, the Browns recently restructured Chubb’s contract, reflecting their continued investment in his talent and dedication to supporting him through his rehabilitation journey.
