The Browns have officially announced the acquisition of yet another seasoned Defensive End, as insider reports stir excitement amidst the 2024 draft frenzy.
Adding to their defensive arsenal, the Browns have secured exclusive rights free agent DE Sam Kamara, aiming to bolster their defensive line’s depth.
Kamara, who initially joined the Browns in 2022, has seen action in three games during his tenure with the team. His journey to Cleveland began after signing with the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent in 2021. Despite going undrafted, Kamara made his mark in his rookie season, appearing in eight games for the Bears. During his debut campaign, he showcased his skills with 10 tackles, one tackle for loss, and one pass defensed.
In a corresponding move, the Browns have parted ways with G Drew Forbes, citing a failed physical as the reason for his departure.
Insider Insights: Browns’ Ideal Draft Pick at No. 54 Revealed
As the 2024 NFL Draft approaches, the Cleveland Browns find themselves equipped with six picks, presenting ample opportunities to enhance their roster with promising rookies.
With their initial selection slated for the second day at No. 54, the burning question arises: which player should the Browns target to fulfill their team needs?
Renowned analyst Toni Grossi has weighed in with his top recommendation for that crucial second-round pick.
ESPN Cleveland recently shared Grossi’s insights on Twitter, indicating his preference for Michigan’s Junior Colson as the ideal choice at No. 54.
Grossi highlighted a glaring neglect of the linebacker position in Cleveland over recent years, emphasizing Colson’s potential to immediately elevate the group’s performance.

Colson’s draft stock positions him as a second-round prospect, with projections even placing him as high as the No. 48 pick, according to Grossi’s assessment.
During his tenure at Michigan, Colson distinguished himself, earning recognition as the team’s defensive MVP in the previous season.
Grossi also cautioned against certain positions that the Browns should avoid drafting with their second-round pick.
Specifically, the analyst dismissed the notion of selecting a tight end, citing David Njoku’s stellar performance in the preceding season, where he amassed impressive stats of 81 receptions, 882 yards, and six touchdowns.
Furthermore, Grossi advised against targeting running backs or offensive linemen at No. 54, considering the formidable duo of Nick Chubb and Jerome Ford in the running back corps, along with the recent acquisition of former Chicago running back D’Onta Foreman in free agency.
