In a recent update reported by TWTD, Hladky revealed, “The contract is not signed yet, so that’s the only thing I know. You can ask someone else. My biggest point is that I want to carry on here because it’s a massive club, and I’m so happy coming here every day. I want to stay here, for sure. Hopefully we can find a way to get it done.”
Having made 42 appearances across various competitions this season and boasting 13 clean sheets, Hladky has become a pivotal figure within the team. However, the club faces a significant decision regarding his future, weighing whether to extend his stay or allow him to depart as a free agent.
Under the management of Kieran McKenna, Hladky has seen increased game time since Ipswich’s promotion from League One, attributed in part to his adeptness with his feet. While he brings valuable experience and versatility to the squad, his status as the undisputed first-choice goalkeeper in the long term remains uncertain, as Ipswich seeks to strengthen its roster.
Hladky’s journey in the United Kingdom began in 2019 when he joined St Mirren, before stints with FC Zbrojovka Brno and Slovan Liberec. Subsequently, he made significant contributions to Salford City before joining Ipswich.
As Ipswich Town prepares for their upcoming fixture against Watford, following a recent defeat to Norwich City, they aim to reclaim their spot in the top two of the Championship standings. With promotion aspirations looming large, the club’s decision-makers face a critical juncture regarding Hladky’s future as they navigate the complexities of squad management and strategic planning.
