Ravens and Orioles unite to extend $10 million donation for Baltimore bridge recovery fund…
The city of Baltimore has faced challenging times recently, particularly with the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge on March 26. In response, both the Baltimore Ravens and Baltimore Orioles, representing the NFL and MLB respectively, have joined forces to aid in the recovery efforts. They have collectively pledged a substantial sum of $10 million to support the restoration of the bridge and assist those affected by the disaster, including families, communities, first responders, port workers, and small businesses.
The Ravens’ owner, Steve Bisciotti, expressed the team’s commitment to helping with the recovery efforts and supporting the affected individuals and businesses in Maryland. Similarly, Orioles’ owner, David M. Rubenstein, conveyed gratitude to Governor Wes Moore for enabling them to contribute to the cause. They have also provided a link for public donations.

The tragic incident occurred when a cargo ship, dubbed “The Star-Spangled Banner” in reference to America’s national anthem, collided with the bridge, resulting in significant damage and the loss of six construction workers, with three bodies recovered and three still missing. Immediate support from both sports teams has been evident since the news broke, with emergency crews swiftly responding to rescue efforts. The governor is seeking approximately $60 million for expedited bridge recovery.
