Injury Sidelines Swindon Town Forward for Remainder of Season; Contract Uncertainty Looms
Swindon Town’s on-loan striker, Tomi Adeloye, is set to miss the remainder of the season due to injury, according to a report from the Swindon Advertiser. Adeloye, who has been plying his trade with Partick Thistle in Scotland, will be sidelined after undergoing surgery, potentially marking an end to his stint with the Scottish Championship side.
The 28-year-old attacker, who has notched eight goals across all competitions for Partick Thistle, faces an uncertain future as his contract with Swindon Town is set to expire at the end of June. Adeloye, who joined the club in 2022 on a two-year deal, struggled to make an impact last season, managing just one goal in 12 appearances.
With Adeloye on the brink of becoming a free agent, Swindon Town’s intentions regarding his future remain unclear. The club, currently under interim management led by Gavin Gunning following the dismissal of Michael Flynn, has yet to make decisions regarding contract extensions.
Before his time at Swindon, Adeloye showcased his talent with Ayr United in the Scottish second tier, where he registered 14 goals in 38 appearances. His career has also seen him play for various clubs including Altrincham, Hartlepool United, Dagenham and Redbridge, Ebbsfleet United, and Barnet.
For Adeloye, the immediate focus lies on his recovery and regaining full fitness as swiftly as possible. Swindon Town, meanwhile, faced a weekend without action and are set to return to the pitch on Friday against Notts County followed by an Easter Monday clash against Sutton United.
Currently positioned in 20th place, Swindon Town has endured a winless streak of four matches, suffering defeats in their last three outings. Despite their recent struggles, the club sits comfortably 11 points above the relegation zone with only seven fixtures remaining, ensuring their safety from demotion.
