“Its Pathetic” :Hull City boss shares ‘worrying’ update on striker’s fitness ahead of Stoke City clash…

‘Hull City Manager Provides Update on Striker’s Fitness Ahead of Stoke City and Leeds United Matches’

Hull City manager Liam Rosenior has shed light on Aaron Connolly’s fitness struggles following an injury sustained against Norwich City back in January.

The striker endured a collision with Norwich’s goalkeeper, Angus Gunn, resulting in a shoulder injury and concussion, which has hindered his return to full form.

Since the incident, Connolly, aged 24, has faced a reduction in playing time with the Championship promotion hopefuls as he strives to reclaim his spot in the lineup.

Rosenior, speaking to HullLive, offered insights into Connolly’s recovery process, stating, “The injury that he had against Norwich was horrific. Yes, his shoulder was damaged, but actually, he had a long concussion for 10 days to two weeks. That sets anyone back, that’s a really, really difficult injury to overcome.”

“We’ve had to give him time to build himself up, and you can see he needed the game minutes (against Curacao). I can’t put him in games when we’re fighting for the play-offs and hope that he’s going to be OK. I need players that I can rely on,” Rosenior added.

Connolly’s absence due to injury has been felt by Hull City, depriving them of valuable competition and depth in the forward line. Despite finding a comfortable spot at the MKM Stadium under Rosenior’s management, his long-term future with the club remains uncertain.

Having signed a one-year deal last year upon joining the Tigers permanently, it’s unclear if Connolly will receive an extension. Previously on loan with Hull, he showcased his prowess by scoring two goals in five games. This season, he has found the net eight times, demonstrating his importance to the team.

Formerly with Brighton and Hove Albion, Connolly accumulated eight goals in 52 appearances for the Seagulls. Loan spells at Luton Town, Middlesbrough, and Venezia provided him with valuable experience before his move to Hull City.

Connolly’s recent full-game participation in a friendly against Curacao indicates progress in his recovery. Hull City is gearing up for upcoming matches, facing Stoke City at home after a two-week break, followed by an away fixture against Leeds United on Monday.
