Cleveland Browns Owners Offer Key Updates During NFL Owners Meetings!

Amidst the bustling atmosphere of the NFL’s annual owners’ meetings in Florida, Jimmy and Dee Haslam, owners of the Cleveland Browns, took the opportunity to provide significant updates on various crucial topics pertaining to the team during discussions with local media.

Jimmy Haslam disclosed on Monday that the Browns are nearing finalization on contract extensions for key figures Andrew Berry and Kevin Stefanski, who have been integral to the organization since 2020.

“We’re currently in the process of ironing out details to secure extended stays for Kevin and Andrew within our organization,” stated Haslam.

Under Berry and Stefanski’s leadership, the Browns have witnessed notable success in the highly competitive AFC North, with two playoff appearances since their tenure began.

Speaking to the remarkable collaboration between Berry, Stefanski, and Paul DePodesta, the team’s chief strategy officer, Haslam remarked, “The synergy between these individuals is exceptional and greatly facilitates our operations.”

Additionally, the Haslams addressed ongoing speculation regarding a new stadium for the Browns. They revealed progress in acquiring a 176-acre parcel of land in Brook Park, which could potentially serve as the site for a new stadium and associated facilities. The possibility of constructing a dome stadium, either downtown or in Brook Park, is under consideration, with cost considerations being a pivotal factor in determining the course of action.

While expressing a desire to retain the stadium within the city limits, the Haslams acknowledged seeking $1 billion in funding for renovating the current venue along the lakefront. They indicated a willingness to extend the team’s lease on Cleveland Browns Stadium beyond its 2028 expiration if necessary. Moreover, any substantial renovations would likely coincide with the development of the lakefront, a longstanding priority for both the franchise and the city of Cleveland.

Meanwhile, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski shared insights during his media interaction, notably discussing the recruitment of Mike Vrabel and the collaborative ethos within the team’s operations. Stefanski expressed enthusiasm about Vrabel’s addition to the coaching staff and emphasized the importance of his experience and perspective.

Regarding the Browns’ offensive strategy, Stefanski highlighted the collaborative efforts between himself, offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey, and quarterback Deshaun Watson, indicating a productive meeting in Los Angeles to discuss plans for the upcoming season.

Lastly, Stefanski addressed rumors of a potential season-opening game in Brazil against the Eagles, confirming the Browns’ involvement in the discussions and their readiness to compete wherever the game may be scheduled.
