“Dream Realized”: Texans’ Will Anderson, Jr. Thrilled by Team’s New Faces

Houston’s offseason has seen a flurry of activity in free agency, sparking excitement among the players.

The Texans have made significant additions to their defensive line with signings like Danielle Hunter and the re-signing of Khalil Davis, indicating a robust preparation for the upcoming 2024 season. Defensive end Will Anderson, Jr. expresses confidence that with the likes of Hunter joining him, the Houston pass rush will pose a formidable challenge for opposing offenses.

“I was genuinely thrilled,” Anderson remarked. “I’ve been hoping for a counterpart that could instill fear in our opponents.”

Hunter, boasting 87.5 sacks over his eight-year NFL career, is fresh off a season where he recorded 16.5 sacks and 23 tackles for loss.

Safety Jalen Pitre shares in the enthusiasm for the team’s acquisitions, particularly Hunter’s addition to the lineup.

“Having a force like Hunter, someone who can disrupt plays on the opposite end of Will Anderson…and all these new faces, it’s surreal to think I’ll be playing alongside them,” Pitre remarked. “It’s a dream come true. I’m thrilled.”

Wide receiver Tank Dell echoed the sentiment, highlighting the strength of the Texans’ revamped defensive line.

“Our defensive line is stacked,” Dell exclaimed. “They’ve made some impressive moves.”

The acquisition of running back Joe Mixon from the Cincinnati Bengals further enhances the team’s offensive arsenal, providing support to QB C.J. Stroud.

As offseason conditioning approaches on April 15, more roster adjustments are expected. Nevertheless, Anderson expresses confidence in the incoming players.

“I know they’ll put in the work,” Anderson affirmed. “They’ll give their all for the team and the city. Both have remarkable resumes, and I look forward to learning from them. I’m genuinely excited about this.”
