West Ham United’s goalkeeper, Łukasz Fabiański, is geared up for the challenge against SC Freiburg in the UEFA Europa League round of 16 second leg. Despite a 1-0 deficit from the first leg, Fabiański aims to extend his playing streak in the 2023/24 season by aiding his team in overturning the scoreline.
At 38, Fabiański completed the full match in the previous encounter and is determined to contribute to the team’s advancement to the quarter-finals. Despite predominantly featuring in cup competitions this season, with six out of his 15 appearances in the Europa League, Fabiański relishes every opportunity on the pitch. Drawing from past experiences, particularly from overcoming similar situations against Sevilla two years prior, he believes the team is well-equipped to tackle challenges.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the Europa League’s return this season, Fabiański acknowledges the heightened stakes in the knockout rounds. As one of the team’s longest-serving members since joining in June 2018, he has been instrumental in West Ham’s European endeavors, culminating in their UEFA Europa Conference League triumph last season.
