Lamar Jackson: “You’re Dead to me!!”
Lamar Jackson had a playful response to the news of Patrick Queen joining the Pittsburgh Steelers, quipping, “@Patrickqueen_ You’re Dead to us, Queen. Good luck, You’re Dead to me.” This light-hearted banter mirrors a similar exchange between former New York Giants’ players Saquon Barkley and Tiki Barber. The Ravens need not worry about any hostility between Jackson and Queen, as Queen took the jest in good spirits.

This isn’t the first time Jackson has bid farewell to a departing teammate with humor. Earlier, safety Geno Stone’s move to the Cincinnati Bengals prompted Jackson’s trademark reaction, “@GenoStone22 You’re Dead to us, You’re Dead to me!!” Despite the jesting tone, the Ravens recognize the loss of two valuable players in Queen and Stone.

However, the Ravens have made moves to compensate for these departures. Running back Derrick Henry’s acquisition provides a significant boost to the offense, especially following Gus Edwards’ departure to the Los Angeles Chargers. While the defense may feel the absence of Queen and Stone, the team remains confident in its depth and talent.
Trenton Simpson, a second-year player, is seen as a capable replacement for Queen, having earned praise from his predecessor. Additionally, the Ravens boast strong options in the secondary with players like Kyle Hamilton and Marcus Williams.
While it’s tough to see productive players don rival jerseys, particularly with Queen joining the Steelers, the Ravens believe they have the strength and depth to weather these losses and remain competitive in the AFC North.
