Jordan Hicks agrees to terms with the Cleveland Browns.

The veteran has a new home

The Cleveland Browns have officially confirmed the acquisition of experienced linebacker Jordan Hicks, adding depth to their defensive roster alongside quarterback Deshaun Watson and other key players.

Following the Minnesota Vikings’ announcement of signing linebacker Blake Cashman, it became evident that Jordan Hicks’ tenure with the Vikings was coming to a close. However, Hicks swiftly found a new team.

Reported by Adam Schefter of ESPN, Hicks is set to join the Cleveland Browns on a two-year contract worth $8 million.

Hicks spent two seasons with the Vikings, although he faced setbacks due to a significant leg injury during the past season, leading to a lengthy period on the injured reserve due to compartment syndrome. Despite this, he notably earned NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors for his performance in a win against the Chicago Bears, sealing the victory with a crucial scoop-and-score touchdown.

With Hicks’ departure, it appears that Cashman and second-year player Ivan Pace Jr. will take over the reins in the heart of Minnesota’s defense. While Hicks proved to be a valuable asset to the Vikings during his time with the team, his move to Cleveland makes sense given the circumstances.

As the Vikings continue to make roster adjustments, updates will be provided. Stay tuned for further developments and keep track of all the Vikings’ free agency moves through our Free Agency Tracker.
