Good news: The Falcons confirmed the signing of a four-time Pro Bowl QB to a four-year deal…

The Atlanta Falcons have found their franchise quarterback.

Kirk Cousins lands a four-year deal to join the NFC South team. The contract will be four years, $180 million ($45 million per average per year) for the Pro Bowl QB, per Ian Rapoport.

Cousins will be joining a Falcons squad that features offensive weapons like running back Bijan Robinson, wide receiver Drake London, and tight end Kyle Pitts — all of whom are previous first-round picks.

The 35-year-old QB is coming off of a 2023 campaign that ended prematurely due to an Achilles injury but was on pace to set career numbers through eight games. Cousins is set to lead a team that has yet to have a winning record since its last playoff appearance in 2017.

In his career as a full-time starter, Cousins has only had to two seasons with a losing record. The former Viking and Commander ranks fifth in passing yards (39,471) and fourth in passing touchdowns (270) among current QBs.

With the signing, the Falcons addressed their glaring positional need at quarterback, most likely putting an end to the Tylor Heinicke and Desmond Riddler era in Atlanta and beginning a new one with Cousins.
