The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have agreed to trade veteran cornerback Carlton Davis to the Detroit Lions.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Lions will be acquiring Davis in this trade, although the specific terms of the agreement have not been disclosed. Davis, who is set to earn a base salary of $14 million this season with no guarantees, may potentially undergo contract renegotiations as part of the deal.

Last season, Davis started in all 12 regular-season games he was healthy for, as well as both postseason games. It is anticipated that he will assume a starting role in Detroit for the upcoming season, as the Lions have secured a talented player, albeit one that the Buccaneers were hesitant to pay $14 million.
