Bruins GM reveals why the they recalled John Beecher after short stint in AHL…

Following a brief stay in the AHL, the Bruins call up John Beecher.

According to the AHL Transaction logs, forward John Beecher has been called up by the Boston Bruins from the minor leagues. Since mid-January, Beecher has played for the Providence Bruins in the American Hockey League (AHL), making 17 appearances and tallying eight points that were divided equally.

The 22-year-old Beecher surprised everyone at training camp by being added to the Bruins opening roster alongside fellow rookie Matthew Poitras. In Boston’s season-opening game, he made his NHL debut and picked up his first fight and penalty. After carrying seven penalty minutes into the first game, he has since appeared in 39 NHL games, recording five goals and seven points but only managing a meager 15 penalty minutes.
