Leyton Orient manager Richie Wellens has broken his silence following a £2,400 fine imposed by the Football Association due to his red card incident. Wellens was disciplined for his actions during Leyton Orient’s victory against Oxford United last month.
Wellens confessed to improper conduct during the 85th minute of the match when he held onto the ball after it had gone out for a throw-in for the home team. Despite the fine, he will not serve a touchline suspension following a hearing with an independent disciplinary panel.
This decision allows Wellens to remain on the sidelines for Leyton Orient’s upcoming fixture against Wigan Athletic on Saturday.
