West Brom’s head coach Carlos Corberan is scheduled to have a face-to-face meeting with the club’s new owner, Shilen Patel, following their match against Queens Park Rangers.
Patel, a 43-year-old Florida investor representing Bilkul Football WBA, will be attending his first game in person since officially taking over from Guochuan Lai. He had previously watched Albion’s match against Southampton after the takeover agreement was announced.
Corberan expressed enthusiasm about Patel’s attendance but emphasized that his focus remains on the game at hand. He sees Patel’s support as positive for fostering unity among the owner, players, and fans, highlighting the importance of stability for the club’s growth.
While Corberan and Patel have been in contact via phone since the takeover, their upcoming in-person meeting signifies a significant step in their relationship. Patel has previously praised Corberan as being an ideal fit for Albion’s plans under the new ownership.
The match against QPR presents a tough challenge, as the hosts have been in good form recently under Corberan’s fellow Spaniard Marti Cifuentes. Despite QPR’s position in the table, Corberan emphasizes the importance of considering their momentum rather than solely focusing on their league standing.
