The Houston Texans have their eyes set on some big names in free agency this year. The NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis has just wrapped up, and it seems like the Texans are gearing up for a busy offseason. There’s been a lot of chatter about potential signings, with fans and analysts alike speculating about who might join the team.
While some are hoping for big names like Mike Evans and Saquon Barkley, I’m more interested in a more measured approach. I believe the Texans should focus on four key areas in free agency:
Defensive Line: Christian Wilkins, DT, Miami The Texans have the financial flexibility to make a big splash in free agency, and the defensive line is a priority. Wilkins, who had nine sacks last season, would be a great fit for the Texans. There’s even talk that he might want to play for Houston. If Wilkins is too expensive, bringing back former Texan D.J. Reader could be a solid alternative.

Offensive Line: Terron Armstead, OT, New Orleans Protecting the quarterback is crucial, and Armstead is one of the best offensive tackles available. He’s a proven performer and would be a valuable addition to the Texans’ line.
Wide Receiver: Allen Robinson, WR, Chicago The Texans need a reliable target for their quarterback, and Robinson fits the bill. He’s a consistent performer and would give the offense a much-needed boost.
Cornerback: J.C. Jackson, CB, New England The Texans’ secondary needs help, and Jackson is one of the top cornerbacks in free agency. He’s a playmaker who could make a big impact on defense.
Overall, the Texans have a lot of options in free agency, and it will be interesting to see who they target.
