The Raptors are set to lose another superstar ahead of the trade deadline…

Veteran forward Thaddeus Young is set to join the Suns…

The Brooklyn Nets released veteran forward Thaddeus Young last week, and he hasn’t spent much time on the free-agent market. Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports that Young has reached an agreement to play with the Phoenix Suns through the end of the current campaign.

Young began the 2023–24 season as a member of the Toronto Raptors, where he averaged 5.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in 23 games. At the trade deadline, he and Dennis Schroder were sent to the Nets in exchange for Spencer Dinwiddie, who was moved to the Raptors.

Even though Young only has a little role with the Raptors, the Suns anticipate a significant lift from him. Phoenix’s bench depth is in doubt, but bringing in Young might give them a lot more options—especially when the playoffs roll around.

Currently, Thaddeus Young is in his 17th NBA season. In the 2007 NBA Draft, he was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers with the 12th overall choice. Young played for the Philadelphia 76ers for seven seasons before going on to play for six other teams, notably the Chicago Bulls and Indiana Pacers. Since going professional, the 35-year-old player has averaged 12.2 points and 5.7 rebounds per game.

Although the Suns are sixth in the Western Conference right now, the Dallas Mavericks and Sacramento Kings are quite close to them.
