During the NBA trade deadline, the Toronto Raptors were among the clubs that were trading the most. Even the original Anunoby deal in late December marked the beginning of the trade season. The Utah Jazz were one of the groups that traded with the Raptors. Kelly Olynyk and Ochai Agbaji were traded to the Jazz in exchange for Kira Lewis Jr. and Otto Porter from the Raptors. Olynyk was well-liked by Jazz supporters, and on Tuesday, he wrote a heartfelt farewell to the team despite leaving to join the Raptors in his native nation.
Kelly Olynyk spent one and a half seasons as a player for the Jazz. Prior to the 2022–2023 season, the Jazz acquired him in a trade with the Detroit Pistons. Olynyk averaged 10.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 4.0 assists a game while playing for the Jazz. He also shot 51.9 percent from the field, 40.3 percent from three points, and 77.5 percent from the free throw line.
Kelly Olynyk, who has only been in two Raptors games thus far, is averaging 14.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 3.0 steals per game. Her shooting percentages are 50% from the field, 33.3 percent from three points, and 100% from the free throw line.
Olynyk was selected with the thirteenth overall choice in the 2013 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics, where he made his NBA debut. In addition to the Raptors, Jazz, and Pistons, he has also played for the Miami Heat and Houston Rockets throughout his 11-year career.
