During the NBA trade deadline, the Toronto Raptors were among the clubs that were trading the most. Even the original Anunoby deal in late December marked the beginning of the trade season. The Utah Jazz were one of the groups that traded with the Raptors. Kelly Olynyk and Ochai Agbaji were traded to the Jazz in exchange for Kira Lewis Jr. and Otto Porter from the Raptors. Olynyk was well-liked by Jazz supporters, and on Tuesday, he wrote a heartfelt farewell to the team despite leaving to join the Raptors in his native nation.

Kelly Olynyk spent one and a half seasons as a player for the Jazz. Prior to the 2022–2023 season, the Jazz acquired him in a trade with the Detroit Pistons.
