Haason Reddick, a two-time Pro Bowl player, is being pursued by the Philadelphia Eagles in trade negotiations. The Eagles are letting Reddick consider trades, according to a shocking report released by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport only hours before Super Bowl 58.
“Sources: After another disruptive season with double-digit sacks, Eagles All-Pro edge rusher Haason Reddick has been granted permission to pursue a trade,” Rapoport said in a February 11, 2024 X message. “The 29-year-old might end up somewhere else after two seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers and 27 sacks.”
Brad Spielberger of Pro Football Focus presents a possible trade deal that would send Reddick to the Houston Texans for the Eagles. Reddick is traded to the Eagles for the No. 59 overall pick.
Most Philadelphia supporters will find it difficult to accept trading Reddick for only a second-round pick. Reddick and Defensive Rookie of the Year Will Anderson Jr. together would be a formidable combination for the Texans.
Eagles Rumors: How Much Is the Trade Value of Two-Time Pro Bowler Haason Reddick?
Reddick’s lack of output is not the reason for this decision. Reddick’s deal, which pays $45 million over three years, is about to expire.
Haason Reddick has reportedly been given permission to seek a trade by the Eagles.
What exactly does that mean?

In 2024, the highly anticipated pass rusher will earn a salary of $14.2 million with a $21.3 million cap hit. Reddick has just one season left on his contract, and a big extension is about to come up. As a result, his trade value may decline.
The pass-rush grade of Reddick dropped from 90.0 to 75.2 in 2023, as did his pass-rush win percentage from 16.8% to 14.4% and his pressure rate from 15.9% to 12.6%. Spielberger noted these developments in a story published on February 13 under the heading “4 NFL trades that could shake up the 2024 offseason.” “Even yet, he continued to be a very good edge defender, recording double-digit sacks in four straight seasons and more than 800 snaps.
Teams will be calling Philadelphia in need of a smaller outside linebacker with good bend around the edge, immediate pressure production, and the ability to get upfield quickly. As part of the deal, Reddick’s contract will likely be extended. In order to play opposite Will Anderson Jr., the Houston Texans will go to a pass-rush specialist if they are unable to sign Jonathan Greenard in free agency.
Halfback Haason Reddick of the Philadelphia Eagles had double-digit sacks for four seasons running.
One of the most important skill sets in the modern NFL is Reddick’s ability to get to the quarterback. The pass rusher has recorded double-digit sacks in each of the last four seasons. Playing in at least 16 games in each of his seven NFL seasons, Reddick has also shown remarkable durability.

The 2023 season saw the two-time Pro Bowler record 38 tackles, 23 quarterback hits, 13 tackles for loss, and 11 sacks in 17 games. There is no assurance that Reddick will be traded this summer, as ESPN’s Tim McManus explained.
McManus explained in a February 11 post titled “Source: Eagles grant Haason Reddick permission to seek trade” that “from the Eagles’ perspective, it’s not guaranteed that a trade gets done.” “To part with one of their best defensive players will require appropriate cap considerations and compensation. However, the funds that a Reddick deal would have freed up would be promptly redistributed due to the team’s urgent defensive requirements.
“Spottrac.com reports that 12 edge rushers currently earn $20 million or more per season, with Nick Bosa leading the pack at $34 million.”
