Former Twins All-Star pitcher makes bold claims considering his return to MLB…

A former All-Star pitcher for the Twins is considering a return to MLB.

One former All-Star pitcher is attempting to force his way back into the MLB after sitting out the 2023 season.

Veteran righty Jake Odorizzi is throwing without restrictions and intends to sign an MLB contract soon, according to a Monday report from Jon Morosi of MLB Network. Odorizzi has thrown off the mound this offseason in front of evaluators from ten to twelve MLB teams, according to Morosi.

Pitching for five different teams, Odorizzi, 33, has 11 years of MLB experience (Kansas City, Tampa Bay, Minnesota, Houston and Atlanta). Over his career, he has a 3.99 ERA and 8.4 strikeouts per nine innings.

In addition, Odorizzi pitched for the Astros during their 2021 AL pennant drive and was named an All-Star with the Twins in 2019.

Naturally, Odorizzi is now a complete wild card following his absence from the 2023 campaign due to recovery from an arthroscopic debridement treatment performed on his throwing shoulder in April of last year.

Odorizzi’s results from his final outing in 2022, which included 22 starts and a 4.40 ERA, could give us a decent picture of what to anticipate from him going forward.

However, the summer has been successful for former Twins All-Stars, as one of them, who also played with Odorizzi, just received a lifeline from the Angels for a comeback.
