The Raptors confirm the signing of the 27-year-old superstar…

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Justise Winslow, a former player for the LA Clippers, has signed a 10-day contract with the Toronto Raptors. Winslow, who last played for the Portland Trail Blazers, appeared in 40 games over the past two seasons following a trade that sent him to Portland in exchange for Norman Powell and Robert Covington. Drafted 10th overall by the Miami Heat in 2015, Winslow’s career trajectory did not match the expectations set for him as a lottery pick, although he has been a reliable rotation player for competitive teams.

His most productive season occurred in 2018-19 with the Miami Heat, where he played 66 games, starting in 52, and averaged career highs of 12.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game in 29.7 minutes of play. Injuries hindered Winslow from reaching the same level of performance in subsequent seasons, but he has demonstrated glimpses of his capabilities intermittently.

The opportunity with the Raptors presents a chance for Winslow to secure a more stable position in the NBA, utilizing the 10-day contract to showcase his skills. Given the Raptors’ current position far from playoff contention, exploring options like Winslow, who has spent time with their G-League affiliate, is a low-risk move that could potentially yield positive results.
