NFL rumors: Bill Belichick is getting ready to coach in 2025 and take a year off…
Bill Belichick is content to wait until 2025.
Bill Belichick, who is regarded by many fans and analysts as the best head coach in NFL history, did not find a partner for the offseason dance. Raheem Morris was chosen to fill the head coach post with the Atlanta Falcons after he had two interviews. Belichick isn’t ready to hang up his boots, despite some claiming the ruling is evidence the league has gone past his more rigid, traditional methods.
He is hoping to get back into coaching in the 2025–2026 campaign.
As Jeremy Fowler of ESPN noted, “It’s still hard to fathom that Bill Belichick just sort of hangs out as a coaching free agent after the greatest run of all time over two decades in New England, and it remains a talking point leaguewide.” “This is the impression I get after talking to a few close to Belichick: He’s ready to take a year off and will get ready for the 2025 cycle, with several big jobs possibly opening.”
The legendary New England Patriots coach is one win away from matching the record held by Don Shula for the most victories as an NFL head coach (postseason included). It’s also possible that he’s driven to disprove the notion held by some that he can’t achieve real success after Tom Brady. He may be interested in several positions throughout the upcoming offseason.
Both the Buffalo Bills and the Dallas Cowboys may view Bill Belichick as the player who can eventually take them to the next level if they are unable to go deep into the playoffs once more. This could prove to be a fortunate break for the six-time Super Bowl champion Falcons.
