C.J. Stroud increases hype for 2024 after dominating the Pro Bowl game…

C.J. Stroud’s star continues to rise as he showcases his skills during the Pro Bowl, adding more fuel to the already heightened anticipation for the 2024 season with the Houston Texans. The rookie quarterback, a standout performer in his second season, made history as the first rookie QB since Mac Jones to participate in the Pro Bowl.

Despite a 64-59 loss to the NFC roster, Stroud’s performance earned him recognition as the AFC’s top passer. The game, held at Camping World Stadium, featured a flag football format, with the AFC ultimately prevailing 50-34. Stroud, the frontrunner for Offensive Rookie of the Year, proved to be one of the most impressive players on the field. His remarkable showing included a game-high 173 passing yards and two touchdowns, one of which was a highlight-reel off-balance throw to Bengals’ Ja’Marr Chase in the second quarter.

A testament to his competitive spirit, Stroud and the AFC offense attempted a critical play on 4th-and-goal from the 3-yard line in the closing seconds. However, Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson’s pass breakup denied them the victory. AFC coach Peyton Manning, a Hall of Fame passer, expressed his confidence in Stroud, praising his liveliness and energy on the field. Stroud’s leadership and determination stood out, earning him the trust of his teammates in crucial moments.

Stroud’s contribution extended beyond traditional passing plays. During a pivotal second-quarter play, he connected with Chargers’ Keenan Allen on fourth-and-goal, resulting in a touchdown. Allen, with four touchdowns overall, acknowledged Stroud’s impact on the game. Stroud’s versatility was evident as he successfully completed three two-point conversions, further solidifying his all-around skills.

Reflecting on his Pro Bowl experience, Stroud expressed gratitude for being surrounded by exceptional talent. He emphasized the importance of building connections with fellow players and hinted at the potential for more such opportunities in the future.

Earlier in the week, Stroud showcased his precision passing skills in the Precision Passing challenge, outperforming Tua Tagovailoa and Gardner Minshew to reach the final. Although he narrowly missed victory against Baker Mayfield, Stroud’s competitive spirit and respect for his opponents were evident.

Texans’ rookie defensive end Will Anderson Jr. and offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil also participated in the Pro Bowl but took on different roles due to the flag football format. In an event called ‘Move the Chains,’ they joined forces to pull a 2,000-pound wall, showcasing their strength and teamwork. Anderson, who set a franchise rookie record in sacks, engaged in side drills during commercial breaks, highlighting the Pro Bowl’s unique and entertaining activities.

As Stroud and his fellow Texans representatives left their mark on the Pro Bowl, the excitement surrounding his potential in the 2024 season reached new heights, making him a key figure to watch in the NFL landscape.
