Montreal Canadiens’ Brendan Gallagher faces a five-game suspension following his hit on New York Islanders defenseman Adam Pelech, as announced by the NHL Department of Player Safety. This marks Gallagher’s first career suspension, and the incident occurred during Wednesday’s game, resulting in a five and a 10 on the hit and an ejection from the game.

Over 90 career NHL games, the 24-year-old winger has secured 11 goals and 17 assists for 28 points. Notably, Ylonen has been inactive since January 18th. Canadiens coach Martin St. Louis has decided to include the young star in the lineup following Gallagher’s suspension.
