Why Celtics’ Kristaps Porzingis was sidelined despite ‘Not too bad’ injury…

Despite describing his ankle injury as “not too bad,” Boston Celtics center Kristaps Porzingis will be sidelined for at least one game due to a left ankle sprain suffered two days prior. The injury occurred during Boston’s victory over the Miami Heat, with Porzingis landing on Bam Adebayo’s foot and rolling his ankle.

Although initially appearing severe, Porzingis reassured us that he was “feeling pretty good” shortly after the game’s conclusion. Nevertheless, he will miss the Celtics’ game against the Los Angeles Clippers, marking his 13th absence this season.

While Porzingis anticipates a relatively short recovery, the Celtics, having 10 games left before the NBA All-Star break, may consider resting him to ensure his optimal condition. The situation underscores the delicate balance between a player’s desire to return promptly and the team’s need for strategic rest to avoid prolonged absences.
