In a notable coaching move, Michael Ghobrial, who served as the assistant special teams coach for the New York Jets for three seasons, is making the transition from Florham Park to East Rutherford as he takes on the role of special teams coordinator for the New York Giants.
The Giants officially confirmed this hiring decision, appointing Ghobrial to fill the vacancy left by the recently dismissed Thomas McGaughey. Ghobrial, who joined the Jets in 2021 under the leadership of coordinator Brant Boyer, played a role in establishing the Jets’ special teams as a respected unit. Prior to his tenure with the Jets, Ghobrial spent 12 seasons as an assistant coach in college football.
