Highly sought-after four-star offensive tackle Carter Lowe has committed to playing for the Ohio State Buckeyes in the 2025 season. Lowe, hailing from Toledo, Ohio, and currently attending Whitmer High School, opted for the Buckeyes over strong contenders like the Georgia Bulldogs, Alabama Crimson Tide, and Michigan Wolverines. Lowe emphasized that the distinctive culture at Ohio State played a pivotal role in his decision, citing a strong sense of belonging and a welcoming atmosphere since day one. His relationship with coaches Day and Frye was a key factor in sealing the deal.
The 6-foot-3, 310-pound tackle expressed his satisfaction with the recruitment process, particularly highlighting the efforts of offensive line coach Justin Frye, who made him feel valued and prioritized from the outset. Lowe, positioned as the No. 85 player nationally, the No. 9 offensive tackle, and the No. 3 player in Ohio according to the On3 Industry Ranking, is anticipated to be a significant addition to the Buckeyes’ 2025 class.
Lowe’s proximity to Ohio State, being just over two hours away from his home, adds a geographical advantage. He looks forward to his senior year at Whitmer High before transitioning to the college level. The Buckeyes’ developmental plans for Lowe encompass both his personal and athletic growth, aiming to elevate him to his fullest potential as a player and an individual.
