Nottingham Forest sacked Steve Cooper back in December and now it seems he’s ready for his next challenge.
So, what has been said about Cooper following his Forest exit? Let’s take a closer look…
Steve Cooper ready for next chapter after Forest departure
Well, it would appear that the 44-year-old is now refreshed and gearing up for his next challenge in football.
According to TalkSPORT, the head coach formerly of Forest is now ready to get back into the game.
It’s claimed in the article that it might be bad news for Roy Hodgson with Steve Parish a huge fan of the head coach.
Cooper left Forest in December following a 2-0 defeat to Tottenham at the City Ground ending a spell that lasted just over two years.
The popular figure was responsible for ending a 23-year Premier League exile for Forest, winning promotion at Wembley in 2022.
Things proved tricky at times in the Premier League but he did manage to keep the Reds up last season.
This time around, he struggled to decide on a team and that ultimately led to inconsistent performances and drab football.
Forest will watch previous head coach with intrigue at new club
Crystal Palace face Sheffield United at home next up and anything other than three points will surely see Cooper get the call.
Forest fans will wish their previous boss well and it will be fascinating to see how he does at another Premier League club.
Ultimately, Cooper’s record was pretty poor in the Premier League with Forest and he will hope to learn some lessons from his experiences.
In the end, Cooper left Forest with a win percentage of 38%, winning just 42 of his 108 matches, with a large number of those wins coming in the Championship.
Cooper’s reputation remains intact, however.
He’s one of the most respected coaches in the country and it will be very intriguing to see how he goes when he does get back into football.
