While league executives have conveyed that Staios is “open for business” on the trade front, he emphasizes that he’s exploring all opportunities to improve the team both in the short-term and long-term.
In a mid-season media availability, Staios expressed his commitment to evaluating the team’s core and enhancing it by acquiring players who can contribute at both ends of the ice. Leadership and experience are qualities he values, and he is particularly interested in securing players who are complete and excel in all areas of the game. Staios acknowledges that the market will play a role in shaping their moves and mentions the possibility of making deals either before the trade deadline or during the off-season.
Rumors suggest that Staios is in search of a gritty winger and another right-shot defenseman.
