CJ Stroud has his eyes on the future.
Rookie quarterback CJ Stroud remains optimistic about the Houston Texans’ future despite their elimination from Super Bowl contention following a defeat to the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC divisional round.
In a postgame press conference, Stroud shared the belief of many Texans supporters that this setback marks the beginning of a brighter era for the franchise.
Stroud’s inaugural year in the pros was marked by an impressive overall performance, steering the Texans to a 10-7 record in the regular season and securing their first NFL playoff appearance since 2019.
Before Stroud’s arrival, the Texans had endured three consecutive seasons with no more than four wins, underscoring the transformative impact of the rookie quarterback.

The 2023 NFL regular season saw Stroud finish eighth in the league with 4,108 passing yards, accompanied by 23 touchdowns and a mere five interceptions.
Despite Stroud’s less stellar performance against the Ravens, going 19/33 for 175 yards and zero touchdowns, his significant contributions throughout the season suggest a promising trajectory for the young quarterback, instilling hope in Texans fans for a brighter future.
