Could Kirk Cousins be the solution to the Falcons’ quarterback question in Atlanta?

NFL insider Josina Anderson has confirmed that the Falcons are leading the race to sign Belichick, adding anticipation to the prospect of Cousins joining the mix. In a recent interview with CBS Sports writer Isabel Gonzalez, the Vikings quarterback, set to become an unrestricted free agent in 2024, expressed openness to the idea of teaming up with the third-winningest coach in NFL history. Cousins stated, “I’m not going to turn down an opportunity to play with a future Hall of Fame coach, but we’ll have to see where March leads. It’s just a lot of unknowns right now.”
If Belichick assumes the coaching role in Atlanta, a veteran quarterback becomes crucial for the Falcons’ playoff aspirations. While drafting a quarterback is an option, it may not align with Belichick’s usual approach, and success is not guaranteed. While Cousins thrived in Minnesota with star receiver Justin Jefferson and promising rookie Jordan Addison, the NFC South presents a winnable scenario for the Falcons in the upcoming season.
