‘It’s a big concern’: Portsmouth boss on lowest point and angry Fratton scenes in Leyton Orient capitulation…

The events that transpired at Fratton Park marked the pinnacle of his year at PO4, and John Mousinho admitted that the Blues supporters’ outrage was understandable following an astonishing performance.

According to John Mousinho, “unrecognisable.” Pompey delivered the worst performance of his career, with their promotion aspirations in jeopardy.

Furthermore, the Blues manager admitted that the booing of the Fratton supporters during the incensed scenes surrounding the 3-0 Leyton Orient collapse was entirely fair.

Pompey gave a dismal performance at Fratton Park, giving in to the home crowd’s shock when three goals in the opening twenty minutes of the half arrived.

During a protracted post-match inquest, Mousinho kept his players confined in the home locker room, expressing his anxiety over what transpired.”You take the second half out of it,” he remarked. “We had a little effort, but we never looked like scoring.”

I looked at that side in the first half and thought it was unrecognizable.

Though it wasn’t excellent enough to be good enough at the beginning of the game, we were alright at the beginning.

‘I can accept falling 1-0 down; we’ve done it plenty of times this season. We never displayed any of that; it’s the character we then show to recover.

It’s a major worry of mine.

We lost 2-0 as a result of our poor reaction to the first goal.

I thought we’d give it a shot, but we lost the penalty and lost face.

The occasional penalty is missed. When that happened against Port Vale the previous season, we managed to tie the score, but instead of taking the other route and allowing them to score once more.

We’ve never been worse while I’ve been here, and the manner in which we went down makes it feel different.

I’ve always stated that I don’t mind if we give up and occasionally lose.

“Even with this Blackpool match and the conditions of the match with the red card, you would think we could just pick ourselves up and try again.”

We accomplished it extremely well, but today we just seemed to lack confidence in all we’ve seen from a team that has been so terrific and dominant against really good teams for a significant portion of the season. That’s where we need to improve greatly.

Boos were let out by Pompey supporters at both the halftime and full-time whistles, expressing their emotions.

Mousinho said that it was more than appropriate and that it could have been far worse.

He went on, “To be honest, I thought they were very, very mild compared to what they could have been.” Any response, in my opinion, was entirely appropriate there.

There are absolutely no complaints because I could hear them singing throughout the second half.It was a more than appropriate response.

Everything that is said outside is acceptable, but we also need to make sure that the appropriate questions are asked and answered within. We make that our constant goal.
