Discussion: Are you superstitious when it comes to the Lions…

Should you subscribe to superstitions, the Detroit Lions might have some good fortune. The Detroit Lions, who are 5-0 this season, will take on the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday night while sporting their all-blue, or “blueberries,” uniforms, according to the team’s official Twitter account.

If you’re like that kind of stuff, they might also have some moon luck. The waxing gibbous moon was the talk of the town back on Thanksgiving. The Lions were strong favorites entering into that game, but 0-12 on Thanksgiving during a waxing gibbous phase of the moon. We are all aware of the outcome. When it comes to the Lions, are you superstitious?
I would say, “A little bit.”

Although I’m not usually superstitious, sports have a way of making me go crazy, and I’ll take any reason for optimism. I don’t have a Sunday morning ritual or lucky underpants in my dresser, but I will stay with a theme if I see it emerging after a run of victories. That’s what I’ll be sporting on Sunday night. The Lions have only lost one game this year while I’m wearing my Amon-Ra St. Brown shirsey, and I think they’ve won at least six or seven.

Other than that, not much to say, although I’m interested in hearing from some of you. Please share any strange superstitions you may have about the Lions or any other sport in the comments section below.
