Charlton and Blackpool join Leyton Orient in race for the ‘outstanding’ 24-year-old forward…

In the upcoming weekend, League One clubs in London face challenging fixtures, with Charlton Athletic hosting title-chasing Peterborough United and Leyton Orient visiting leaders Portsmouth. Both teams, hovering around 10 points from the relegation zone and playoff spots, are actively exploring potential deals in the January transfer window to bolster their squads.

Charlton Athletic, currently in the process of finalizing the acquisition of Jonson Clarke-Harris from Peterborough United, may further enhance their striking force with the addition of a standout talent. Despite the official confirmation of Clarke-Harris’s signing pending, reports indicate that Charlton is considering a loan move for Blackburn Rovers’ Niall Ennis. The 24-year-old forward impressed during his stint with Plymouth Argyle last season, contributing 12 goals and six assists in their promotion campaign before joining Rovers in the summer.

Former Argyle manager Ryan Lowe praised Ennis’s versatile skills, emphasizing his aggressiveness, hold-up play, ball-carrying ability, and overall mentality. While Ennis has struggled to make an impact in the Championship, failing to score in 11 appearances, Charlton, along with Bolton and Barnsley, express interest in securing his services on loan.

Simultaneously, Leyton Orient and Blackpool are eyeing a loan deal for Liverpool starlet Harvey Blair. The 20-year-old forward, who debuted for Liverpool in a Carabao Cup fixture against Preston North End in October 2021, is reportedly set to leave Anfield temporarily to gain valuable experience.

Currently recovering from a knee problem, Blair is nearing match fitness. Leyton Orient and Blackpool are identified as frontrunners for his loan move, with Reading also expressing interest in the struggling player. Blair, a product of the Liverpool youth set-up, has not experienced a loan spell away from the club before, making the potential January move a significant step in his career development.

As Charlton, Leyton Orient, and Blackpool actively pursue reinforcements, the League One transfer landscape remains dynamic. The impending arrivals of Jonson Clarke-Harris, Niall Ennis, and Harvey Blair could potentially reshape the fortunes of these clubs as they seek to navigate the challenges of the season.
