Browns Head Coach Kevin Stefanski names surprising QB starter for Week 18 game…

In Week 18 against the Cincinnati Bengals, the Cleveland Browns, locked into the fifth seed with no playoff implications, are set to deviate from expectations by resting several starters. Notably, quarterback Joe Flacco, despite having a bonus linked to playing and winning games, will not be starting.

Head Coach Kevin Stefanski disclosed on Wednesday that Jeff Driskel, recently joining the team, will take the starting quarterback role, while PJ Walker, with two starts and six appearances this season, remains the backup.

Driskel, with two starts for the Houston Texans last year and a career record of 1-9 in 11 starts, boasts a completion rate of 59%, accumulating 14 touchdowns and eight interceptions throughout his career. Stefanski did not specify which players would be inactive in Week 18, but it is logical to assume that those dealing with injuries will see limited playtime.

Stefanski provided updates on significant injury situations, expressing optimism about the potential return of players like Okoronkwo and Moore for the playoffs, which would be a considerable boost to the Browns’ roster.
