Breaking: Huge setback for the Browns as the 23-year-old player suffered a critical head injury…

Browns wide receiver Elijah Moore is facing retirement recommendations from Dr. Bennet Omalu, the pathologist credited with discovering chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) in former NFL players. Moore’s recent head injury during Thursday night’s game against the Jets raised serious concerns after he appeared to convulse on the turf following a tackle by CJ Mosely.

Dr. Omalu, who inspired the movie ‘Concussion’ starring Will Smith, expressed his concerns, stating, ‘That is my recommendation. He was having a seizure. A seizure is a manifestation of brain damage, brain injury, or permanent damage.’ Moore was released from the hospital on Friday but has been placed in the NFL’s concussion protocol.

While the Browns are in contention for a Super Bowl run, Dr. Omalu believes Moore should consider retiring or, at the very least, sit out the remainder of the season. Insisting on caution, he suggested, ‘Given what I saw in that video, he should be benched for the rest of the season, for at least three months.’

Moore’s injury occurred as he hit the ground face down, and cameras captured him lying on his back with his arms and hands involuntarily jolting into the air. Despite contributing significantly to the Browns’ 37-20 victory with an eight-yard touchdown earlier in the night, the severity of Moore’s condition has raised alarms.

The 23-year-old wide receiver has amassed 59 receptions for 640 yards and two touchdowns this season. As the Browns secure their place in the playoffs with a 10-day break before their last regular-season game against the Cincinnati Bengals, Moore’s future in the league hangs in the balance. The Wild Card round of the playoffs is scheduled to begin on January 13.
