Insider Spotlights on Smith-Njigba and Others ahead of Seahawks vs. Titans’ Showdown…

In anticipation of the upcoming Christmas Eve clash between the Seattle Seahawks and the Tennessee Titans at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, several players are poised to capture attention during this pivotal matchup. While familiar faces will undoubtedly draw focus, three players stand out as noteworthy in this contest.

Firstly, Geno Smith returns to the quarterback position for the Seahawks after a noteworthy performance by Drew Lock in the previous week’s victory against the Philadelphia Eagles. Smith, in his 12 regular-season appearances this year, has amassed 2,918 passing yards, completing 259 passes with 15 touchdowns and nine interceptions. Additionally, he has demonstrated mobility, rushing for 92 yards and scoring once.

Despite facing a Titans defense depleted by injuries, Smith, returning from a recent groin injury, may encounter challenges. The expectation is that he will employ a quick-game strategy early on and rely on the dynamic running back duo of Ken Walker and Zach Charbonnet. Once in sync, Smith is predicted to find success against the Tennessee secondary.

Second on the watchlist is Jaxon Smith-Njigba, whose exceptional field vision and precise route running have made him a standout in the Seahawks’ offense. The Ohio State product showcased his potential with a game-winning 29-yard touchdown reception from Lock in the previous week’s triumph over the Eagles.

Despite limited usage, Smith-Njigba’s effectiveness is evident. Having only recorded three catches for 19 yards before his game-winning play, he is expected to maximize his targets on Sunday, regardless of whether he faces slot corner Roger McCreary or Tennessee’s versatile nickel safeties.

Lastly, the spotlight is on Derick Hall, the second-round draft pick at No. 37 overall. While some may view his draft position as a stretch, Hall’s potential is yet to be fully realized. With the year drawing to a close, Christmas Eve in Music City could serve as the ideal stage for him to shine.

Hall’s collegiate achievements at Auburn include 34 tackles and four sacks, earning him recognition as second-team All-SEC in 2021 and first-team All-SEC in 2022. In his rookie season with 14 games played, Hall has contributed 27 total tackles, one for loss, and four quarterback hits. Anticipated to be deployed in situational pass-rush scenarios along the edge, Hall is poised to make an impact.

As the Seahawks aim to extend their winning streak, the performances of Geno Smith, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and Derick Hall will undoubtedly be key focal points in this Christmas Eve clash with the Tennessee Titans.
