The Vikings have made strategic roster moves ahead of their Sunday game against the Lions at U.S. Bank Stadium. Linebacker Jordan Hicks, recovering from a shin injury, has been activated from injured reserve, bringing an additional defensive asset to the team.
Although officially listed as questionable, Hicks participated in full practice throughout the week, signaling his potential return. His role, alongside rookie Ivan Pace Jr., is anticipated to be significant in coordinator Brian Flores’ game plan against the Lions’ formidable offense.
In addition to Hicks, cornerback Jaylin Williams and wide receiver Lucky Jackson have been elevated from the practice squad. Williams, an undrafted rookie from Indiana, bolsters the cornerback position due to Byron Murphy Jr.’s hamstring injury. Williams is expected to step in behind Akayleb Evans, Mekhi Blackmon, and Andrew Booth Jr. Meanwhile, Jackson, a second-season receiver from Western Kentucky, provides depth in the absence of Jalen Nailor, who is sidelined with a concussion.
Although Jackson is likely to contribute primarily on special teams, his inclusion adds flexibility to the Vikings’ receiving options. The team’s proactive roster adjustments aim to optimize defensive and offensive capabilities in the upcoming game against the Lions.
