Queens Park Rangers keen to sign £4 million-rated midfielder in January transfer window…

Queens Park Rangers (QPR), currently struggling in the Championship, are looking to secure the return of Aston Villa midfielder Tim Iroegbunam in the upcoming January transfer window. Iroegbunam, 20, played a significant role for QPR last season, making 32 appearances in the championship.

However, his game time has been limited since his return to Aston Villa, given the competition in their stacked midfield, including players like John McGinn, Douglas Luiz, Boubacar Kamara, and Jacob Ramsey.

Despite not featuring in the first team under manager Unai Emery, Iroegbunam has only played for Villa’s U21s, participating in two EFL Trophy matches and the Premier League 2. Villa is reportedly open to letting the England U20 international leave in January, preferably on a permanent basis. The CIES Football Observatory values the midfielder at £4 million.

QPR recently suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday, ending their impressive four-game unbeaten run, which included three Championship victories. Depending on other results, a win against Southampton this weekend could potentially lift QPR out of the relegation zone.

Despite the recent positive performances, QPR manager Marti Cifuentes is eager to strengthen the squad in January to aid the team’s climb out of the bottom three during the second half of the campaign.
