In Week 16, the Cleveland Browns face the Houston Texans with the advantage of key players’ absence due to injuries. The Browns have grappled with injuries throughout the season, beginning with OL Jack Conklin in Week 1 and RB Nick Chubb in Week 2. Notable players like Deshaun Watson, Jedrick Wills, Dawand Jones, Maurice Hurst, Rodney McLeod, and Grant Delpit have also landed on the injured reserve, with Delpit being the only potential returnee.

As the Browns aim for a playoff push, Week 16 brings further setbacks for the Texans. Quarterback CJ Stroud, who did not progress in concussion protocol, is confirmed to be sidelined. Additionally, the Texans will miss the contributions of DE Will Anderson Jr., a rookie with significant defensive impact, boasting five sacks, 19 quarterback hits, and eight tackles for loss this season. Versatile linebacker Blake Cashman, a fixture in Houston’s defensive and special teams, is also expected to be absent. Cashman has displayed prowess with 87 tackles, nine tackles for loss, two sacks, five passes defended, and a fumble recovery in the current campaign.
While the full injury report is anticipated later, the absence of these key players presents an opportunity for the Browns to capitalize on their playoff aspirations against a depleted Texans lineup.
